FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2011 - The first RHS Raider Band Alumni Event. Band members from the past and present will take the field in performance. We will perform a show that includes songs from multiple years of the Raider Band archives up to a new song selected by the current director.

If you would like to be a part of one of the BEST alumni band events in Lee County, please RSVP to Mr. Eric J. Metzner, RHS Director of Bands, by March 1, 2011 in order to get details and music.

T-shirts will be made available to all alumni, performing or not, to commemorate the evening.

Sometime in Sept or Oct 2011 This event will take place on Homecoming weekend at Riverdale High School. The exact date has yet to be determined but RHS officials have stated that their first preference is the last weekend in September, or any of the first three weekends in October. RHS officials will be able to tell us the exact date by February of 2010. As soon as we can target the exact date we will post an update both here and at FACEBOOK.The plans are tentative and we are certainly open to any and all suggestions. We want this to be an event that everyone looks forward to and incorporates a little something for everyone’s preference. As of now the plan is as follows: Friday, 4:00 p.m. – Bar-B-Q tailgate at Riverdale High School. RHS officials will take us on a guided tour of the school accompanied by any remaining teachers who were there in 1991. The school has changed quite a bit since then so we’re likely to be surprised at what we see. This will be open to all graduates, families, kids, etc. Friday, 7:00 p.m. – We will attend the Homecoming football game and be recognized at halftime. Once halftime is over, we can all leave and head out to the beach for our party. Friday, 9:00 p.m. – We will establish a place to host a party on Ft. Myers Beach. Right now we are targeting the Pink Shell but are open to suggestions. If anyone has any connections we can work with, please let us know. This will be more adult oriented since we’ll be targeting the Pink Shell bar. Whichever bar we choose will include event room rates at the accompanying hotel so out-of-town attendees will be able to stay there. Saturday, 12:00 p.m. – Family picnic. This will be open to all graduates, families, kids, etc. The location can be at Ft. Myers Beach again since most out of town attendees will likely be staying out that way. Another option is Lakes Park. Again, open to suggestions and/or connections. Saturday, 7:00 p.m. – This will be our formal gathering. For those who attended our 10-year reunion, it will be similar to the gathering we had at the hotel. We will likely shoot for a place on the beach again unless there is a majority who wants something different. As with the other events, connections and suggestions are welcome. The plan is for this to be targeted as an adult event.
